IRIS (Intelligent Recognition and Imaging Software) creates a multiprocessing software environment for optical character recognition (OCR), including license plate and container ID's, RFID, cameras, ground loops, line scan imaging, and other automatic data collection devices.

IRIS is a complete software package that recognizes and processes license plate numbers and nationalities, container ID numbers, container ISO codes including verification of the check digit, and any other standardized information printed on a car, truck, train, or container.

The software has been proven to work in all lighting and weather conditions as Visy has reliable systems in North Africa and in the Arctic Circle.

Multiprocessing software means that the system can begin to recognize a vehicle even if there is another vehicle still under recognition in the system. Multiple lanes can be running at once with no reasonable speed limit of vehicles (200 km/h +).

IRIS processes image capturing, line scan images, date and time, Digital IO (input/output) event triggers (such as photocells and inductive loops), vehicle speed, and other information that may be required by the operator.

No software development or complex integration is needed. The output formats support Oracle, XML messaging, DDE link, and other customized communication languages.

Visy IRIS is also available to integrators as a recognition DLL.
